Kid's Room Makeover

Total re-decoration of a 12 sq.-m. child's room. Before/after.

For this project, the main task was to determine the child's tastes and to work them in with the demands of the parents, who wanted a girl's bedroom but without making it a totally "girly pink" or "fairy princess" bedroom…

We opted for bright, cheerful colours, while bringing a definite "girls" feel to the bedroom. We settled on a trio of orange, green and raspberry, with a fitted wardrobe that provides space for a magnetic blackboard. The walls were painted with a green hills and covered with giant stickers to bring the room to life.

Furniture includes a wonderful white cabin-bed with built-in storage drawer –a real, tiny cocoon-, practical, store-sourced bedroom furniture to take all the toys and books and a large 120-cm desk that will expand as the child grows. The accessories are coordinated with the 3 chosen colours for an overall harmony.

The end result is a bedroom with lots of storage space while leaving enough room for working and playing over by the desk and on a lovely hopscotch mat opposite the bed.
